THE NEW KID ON THE BLOG A New Blog Is Born And A New History Begins
Today 10th December 2013, a new blog is developed to cater to the need of Persatuan Seni Lukis Kelantan (PESENI), an association of artists and painters in Kelantan. Though not all artists and painters has joined the association, a drive to register new members will be carried out to bring fresh blood to this association which can be said to be in te doldrum since the closure of the old Balai Seni Lukis Kelantan once located in Bank Kerapu near Padang Bank, Kota Bharu.
A new breath of life has been blown into PESENI with the opening of Balai Seni Lukis Kelatan (BSLK) located next to Tourist Information Center Kelantan within the main museum Komplex along Jalan Sultan Ibrahim. The opening ceremony was officiated by YB Dato' Mohd Amar b Abdullah, the Deputy Chief Minister of Kelantan on Monday 6 Safar 1435H/ 9th December 2013.
BSLK will be the 8th museum of Kelantan and will house the permanent gallery for arts belonging to the museum and a gallery to showcase the works of PESENI members on the upper floor. With such an ideal location, PESENI members with works to show will benefit in several ways such as by doing live painting activities along the pavement of BSLK and selling their products in situ as well via the PESENI gallery. PESENI itself is expected to benefit by earning a small monthly income by operatig a kiosk within a nook in the building to sell soft drinks and art materials. Members can now expect a higher exposure of their works especially to tourists who visit the TIC. Cooperation from tourit guides to lead visitors to the galleries will be solicited.
This blog will be in both English and Malay with emphasis on English as we want to reach beyond the shores of Malasyia and open up the world as the market for our paintings and thus garner higher returns for their effort.
This blog will be the media to disseminate ideas, share of information on PESENI's day to day activities and programmes for the benefit of all. The biodatas of members of PESENI will be included in due course so that the public will know the background of the painter whose work were bought by them. In a way the painters themselves will be further exposed to the world at large.
Any comments, suggestions to be posted and to improve this blog can be emailed to pesenikelantan2013@gmail.com.
